Based in Calgary, Alberta, Ben Gordon formed the blues/rock power trio in 1996. Originally performing as 'Bonedaddy' the band has played in several venues in and around the Calgary area and has had the fortune to share the stage with many talented musicians. Ben has been playing guitar and writing music since the age of 14 and has always had a passion for blues and blues/rock. Influenced by such musicians as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Doyle Bramhall II, Colin James, Ian Thornley, Gordie Johnson, John Mayer and BB King, Ben has always drawn inspiration from the greats. Having grown up with a family of musicians, Ben was introduced to the world of singers/songwriters at an early age and began penning his own songs early on developing his own sound.
In 1999, the Ben Gordon Band was gigging steady in various blues clubs in the City. The original sounds of the Ben Gordon Band became so popular with the patrons at local clubs that they would often request the band to play private functions, as well as appear in steady rotation at the clubs. With several Demo reels to their credit, the band decided to take the material they had accumulated over 10 plus years and record their first full length album. Almost a year in the making, the debut album 'Walking a Fine Line' was released in the fall of 2010. Recorded at Sound Priory Studios, the 10 song CD displays the versatile styling of the band as the sounds range from straight blues (Lovin' You again) to raunchier blues rock (Never Needed Anything)... The Ben Gordon Band is scheduled to tour and promote their album in 2011.
