So, our staff got creative and came up with a way that pools many resources and offers as many win-win scenarios as possible. The musicians win, because they receive National Exposure for 2 weeks, minimum. The retailers win because they receive on-going advertising, as well as loyalty (as I'm sure many indie artists will be drawn to those companies who support them).
This new service is available to advanced members of CanadianMusicians.com These Musicians are required to go through an application process to, if selected, have their song distributed throughout the country as a FREE download to fans.
These downloads will be distributed throughout Canada in various stores and franchises. These locations are required to visibly display promotional images of the Artist.
» How it Works
When the fan visits the download page, they will be given the opportunity to not only receive their FREE download, but to view the Member's profile, allowing them to sample some other music. The fan, at that point, also has the option of contacting the featured Artist in a safe environment, look up the featured Artist's events, and read their biography.
The application process mentioned above is one to assess market readiness. As we have a standard for quality, we require that this standard be met in order to invest our name into this level of exposure. There is a minor administrative application fee for this as we take the time to assess the quality of the recording as well as the image package, including the Artists profile on CanadianMusicians.com. Should an application be turned down as a MyVibes feature, the applicant will receive a review outlining the areas of lack. This professional, constructive criticism is valuable and essential for a Musician to continue to grow as it allows them direction for maturity. Detailed information of all requirements will be released to Advanced Members of CanadianMusicians.com.
In addition to the above-mentioned exposure, we also offer features on CMR as we will be advertising MyVibes and promoting the currently featured Artists. Featured MyVibes songs will be placed in higher rotation for the duration of the feature. As well, CMR will be reporting on the success of the MyVibes downloads and there is the possibility of a feature being held over if it is doing well. CanadianMusicians.com will feature these Artists on the home page as well as consider their song for inclusion on a compilation album.
When fans visit the download site to receive their FREE download, they will be asked to select the region/city where they acquired their access code. This allows the featured Artist the privilege of researching statistics regarding the number of fans accessing FREE downloads in each region/city. This statistical information will be useful when planning tours, marketing music and other products, etc.

Your Application will be reviewed. If selected for MyVibes, we will contact you and proceed with ordering your MyVibes Package and select a date for the promotion to occur.
STEP 3
You will provide us with all required uploads and files. Promotional Printing will commence once Package Payment is received.

There are several potential outcomes of being featured through MyVibes. One of those outcomes includes being noticed by Venues, Radio Stations, Record Labels and Media. One of the reasons it is difficult to break into mainstream radio is because a new artist can pose as a bit of a risk, being that they are unknown. By being featured through MyVibes, you can move from being new to known in just 2 weeks!
The MyVibes feature lasts a minimum of 2 weeks in the distributing locations, and each location is required to visibly display the promotional material we send them. This means that the image you provide us with will be visibly displayed in each location for at least 2 weeks. CMR and CanadianMusicians.com reserve the right to hold a feature over for an additional week, or two, if we deem it worthy, with no extra charge to you.

What is MyVibes?
MyVibes is a program offered through the joint efforts of CanadianMusicians.com and CanadianMusicRadio.com. The purpose is to give national exposure to an artist, by distributing one of their songs as a free download throughout the country via participating retailers.
How are my songs distributed through the retailers?
Ok, here's how it works... We create an access code for each retailer. The retailer supplies this code to their consumers. The consumers use this code to access the download page to receive their FREE download.
How do I become a feature on MyVibes?
First, you need to be an Advanced Member of CanadianMusicians.com. Then, you will need to download the Application PDF and submit all required material. Once it is received by CanadianMusicians.com, your Application will be reviewed. If you are selected to be a feature, we will contact you to move forward. If, however, you are not selected, you will receive a professional critique, outlining the areas that need work.
How likely am I to be selected for MyVibes?
Our criteria is based on quality. If your song is professionally recorded, mixed and mastered, and your graphics are of the same standard of quality, your chances are very good. However, if you send us a demo track, we will probably send you a critique, stating that it sounds like a demo track.
Who reviews the MyVibes Applications and makes the selections?
CanadianMusicians.com and CanadianMusicRadio.com have music industry professionals that review all of the Applications. Our professionals include instrumentalists, vocalists, producers, sound engineers, and graphic design artists. Our concern is not to feature a known artist, but to feature GOOD QUALITY CANADIAN MUSIC!
Do I need to have a complete album to qualify?
No, you don't need to have a full album to be featured for MyVibes. If the song you submit is accepted and the rest of your application package is complete, you're ready to roll!
What is the potential for exposure through MyVibes?
Currently, there is potential for 35,000 consumers, per day, to receive the download access for MyVibes. As more retailers join MyVibes, that number will multiply!!!!
